As a Childcare Facilitator, you will play a valuable role in our center, fostering a supportive and stimulating atmosphere that encourages children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. Your creativity, energy, and passion for early education will shine through as you guide children through a range of activities and experiences that promote optimal attachment and development. You will guide parents in understanding their roles with their children during play and reading. You will provide tools for parents to develop nurturing skills consistent with the Nurturing Families™ curriculum, modeling these skills in group-based parent-child interaction sessions.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that stimulate children’s growth and development;

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children in your care;

  • Implement structured and complete lesson plans within each session to meet the needs of children and coordinate with Parenting Facilitators;

  • Teach nurturing principles for children of parents enrolled in core parenting programs, modeling our core values in tandem with Parenting Facilitators and other child care staff;

  • Set-up and maintain an appropriate classroom environment for children;

  • Collect and record data that will establish effective evaluation of children’s progress by using the ASQ (Ages and Stages Questionnaire) and other instruments;

  • Greet parents and children, establishing immediate, positive rapport, and ensuring complete sign-in process.

  • Collect and report participant demographics and other data as required for funders and staff as assigned;

  • Supervise and direct Childcare Assistant and childcare volunteers;

  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children’s activities and milestones.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education certification preferred;

  • Experience working with young children (0-5 years) in a childcare or educational setting;

  • Enthusiasm for working with children and helping them reach their full potential;

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Ability to be flexible, patient, and adaptable in changing environments;

  • Empathetic and approachable demeanor, with the ability to connect with diverse groups of parents and caregivers;

  • Understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.

  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish), but not required;

  • Positive attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
