Childcare Facilitator

Purpose

​

The Childcare Facilitator coordinates with the Parenting Facilitators to carry out effective ministry to single mothers and their children. The Childcare Facilitator will provide structured, educational programs for children of parents in education programs at Moses House Ministries, both on site and off.

Description of Duties

​

  • Teach Nurturing principles for children of parents enrolled in core parenting programs at Moses House Ministries, modeling nurturing in tandem with parenting educators and other child care workers;

  • Implement structured and complete lesson plans within each session to meet the needs of the children in childcare and coordinate with Parenting Facilitator;

  • Develop and maintain an appropriate classroom environment for children;

  • Provide age-appropriate structured activities for children while parents are on-site for Intake Assessments or Orientations and Case Management sessions;

  • Collect and record data that will establish effective evaluation of children’s progress by use of the ASQ and other instruments;

  • Greet parents and children, establishing immediate, positive rapport, and ensure complete sign-in processes.

  • Collect and report participant demographics and other data as required for funders and Moses House staff as assigned;

  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and general client meetings, when possible.

  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff, mentors, and other volunteers, as well as with community partners to whom clients are referred for services.

  • Supervise and direct Childcare Assistant and childcare volunteers;

  • Other duties as needed that will benefit the clients served and contribute to the success of our mission.
