As a Childcare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our organization’s daily operations by supporting Childcare Facilitators, facilitating activities, and ensuring the well-being of the children in our care. Your enthusiasm, patience, and genuine interest in children’s development will contribute to the positive experiences that shape their early years.

 

Responsibilities include:

• Assist Childcare Facilitators in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities;

• Engage children in play-based learning, arts and crafts, and group activities;

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment for children;

• Assist with set-up for classes at various community locations.;

• Assist in collection of data that will establish effective evaluation of children’s progress;

• Greet parents and children upon arrival, establishing immediate, positive rapport, and ensuring complete sign-in process;

• Support the maintenance of a clean and organized play area;

• Contribute to the development of an inclusive and diverse atmosphere;

• Adhere to health and safety standards and organizational policies.

 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus;

• Experience assisting in childcare setting;

• Passion for working with children and contributing to their growth;

• Effective communication and teamwork skills;

• Ability to be flexible, patient, and adaptable in changing environments;

• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish), but not required;

• Positive attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
