Parenting Facilitator
Purpose
​
The Parenting Facilitator coordinates with Case Managers and Childcare Facilitators to carry out effective ministry to families with young children. The Parenting Facilitator will develop meaningful work relationship with parents, families, coordinators, staff, and volunteers that provide training, encouragement, support, and accountability. The purpose of the Parenting Facilitator position is to facilitate clients’ successful learning and completion of the Nurturing Families Program leading to safe and stable environments where children thrive in their development.

Description of Duties

Assist with and maintain the Nurturing Families Program, materials, logistics, and sites, and associated childcare services for classes.

Recruit and prepare groups of potential participants for upcoming classes

Maintain highly effective education practices, building group cohesion and rapport with individual participants, ensuring positive outcomes for all parents in each group.

Provide individual sessions and make-up classes based on availability of participants; some home-visits will be necessary

Collect and report to funding agencies and to Program Director with appropriate parent-education data and evaluation.

Attend general client meetings, staff meetings, and other training meetings

Interact with public at speaking engagements and other community outreaches, when scheduled, assisting with grant proposals and developing resources as needed.

Maintain a positive working relationship with staff, mentors, and other volunteers, as well as with community partners to whom clients are referred for services.

Other duties as needed that will benefit the clients served and contribute to the success of our mission.
